Pool owners are quite familiar with the Hayward ColorLogic pool lights. They brighten up the pool in the dark which is very essential in preventing pool accidents.
These lights are actually pretty costly and buyers are generally dissatisfied when an issue arises with their lights. This can be a disappointment as they expect the light to last so much longer without developing faults.
Resyncing the Lights
There are times when the lights are no longer in sync and it can be very burdensome if not fixed immediately. There are many methods that can be used to resync the lights depending on the type of controller used and these methods are:
- Manual Method
If the lights are controlled by a simple switch, you could try turning on the lights and wait for a period of 60 seconds. Once the time is up, you should turn off the lights for about 11 to 13 seconds, after which you turn it back on immediately. Then check if all the lights are in sync. If they are not, turn the switch back off for about 11 to 13 seconds. After verification, you should turn the lights off for 2 minutes. It is important to note that for this pattern to work, you have to take note of the timing.
- Omni logic Method
If the lights are controlled by an OmniLogic, you could try tapping in the right part of the dashboard, on the UCL light option. Then click on the body of water the lights are connected with. After that, you should try locating the resync icon which should be at the lower right corner. Immediately, this process is completed, the back arrow should be clicked in to return to the dashboard. Another convenient way is by entering and toggling relays while in service mode.
- ColorLogic Light Controller Method
If a ColorLogic light controller is used to control the lights, you could easily push and then release the center knob to switch on the lights. You should then wait for a period of two minutes and press the resync button down for three seconds before releasing it. During this period, the LEDs around the knob will go on in a clockwise direction. Immediately this process is complete, the lights should be in perfect sync but if not press the resync button again. You can further consult your Hayward ColorLogic light controller manual.
Resetting ColorLogic to Default Mode
You can easily reset your lights to default using this method if you are making use of network lights, network couplers, network modules, a ProLogic with a software equivalent or higher than 4.10.
You start by pressing down the Menu button until you see Configuration Menu-Locked. Once that appears, press and hold down [<] and [>] buttons until the Locked changes to Unlocked.
Press the [<] button till Reset ColorLogic to Default comes up, you can then reset ColorLogic lights to default by pressing the [+] button. You’ll have to confirm the reset after which the light setting returns back to its default mode.
Apart from all this, one main issue associated with the Hayward lights is random light failure. This is usually caused by a voltage spike and it is advised that you call an electrician to examine your lines before installation.
Conclusion
These are some problems faced while using the Hayward ColorLogic pool lights and you can be assured as they are nothing to worry about. You can easily fix them yourself but do not fix high voltage issues as they can be dangerous. Only consult a qualified expert for Hayward pool light replacement parts or for proper installation.
